I started managing money with a guy through Ameriprise Financial. He left and went to MetLife, I followed. We don't really hear from him and frankly, I think I can handle watching funds and stocks myself.

So where should I go? I heard Charles Schwab is good.

I just want to transfer things, not sure how hard it will be. I have a MMA, Roth, 1 stock and 2 mutual funds. They are simply serviced by MetLife (Pershing).

I want to ditch the 2 funds (IMRFX and JALGX) and take what little money that's left and put it in better funds. Suggestions?

So I have about $231,000 at 6.25% on a 30 year fixed VA loan. My buddy works for a place that does refinancing and other things like that and can get me 5% fixed. There are some fees of course. I plan on doing a shorter term loan still fixed and VA. What are the cons?

I put money in two funds recommended by adviser a year and a half ago (IMRFX and JALGX). They are steadily tanking and I know times are tough but should I let them sit or do something before they are totally gone?

I always see advertisements for a 3-4% return, like it's a interest bearing savings account, but only see maybe 1% in interest every month. What gives?
